Ben Cobb & William Bliss
Step inside the William Bliss factory for a closer look at the cloth, craftsmanship and ideas behind Ben Cobb’s collaboration with Aubin.
Aubin by Ben Cobb
A masterclass in town & country. Aubin and Ben Cobb come together for a collection inspired by a new life in the country. Ben Cobb has been many things in his career - currently men’s editor-at-large of The Sunday Times Style and Esquire’s style columnist, he’s been editor-in-chief of The Evening Standard magazine, Another Man and LOVE, a consultant to fashion brands and creative director. And with his unique style - a bit louche, a bit seventies, a particularly British kind of flamboyant glam - he’s an easily recognisable style icon. But perhaps not the person you expect to find in a small country village.
Cool to be clever
We met up for some lessons in learning with a top class crew, from public intellectuals, geneticists and fashion academics, to experts in graffiti, a PhD classicist, university lecturers and state school teachers.
AUTUMN 26
Britain has always been a nation of makers, builders and heavy-lifters. From railways and mines to mills, steelworks and factories, industry shaped towns and cities across the country. And we’ve always loved the clothes worn by the people who built Britain and kept it moving. British workwear was never a strict uniform, but a practical mix of heavy wool jackets, cotton shirting, hand knits and hard-wearing fabrics, built to last. Colour and pattern added a little swagger, while these influences travelled beyond the workplace to artists and musicians including Gilbert and George, The Clash, The Housemartins and steeplejack Fred Dibnah. To celebrate the collection we headed to the Master Shipwright’s House in Deptford with actors Frankie Wade, Art Campion and Kyle Rowe. Dark corduroy, faded pinstripes and Prince of Wales check were layered with patterned knitwear, sturdy peacoats and brightly coloured socks. A collection built for a British autumn.

At some point in the summer holidays when you’ve overdosed on 99 Flake’s, it’s time to spread your wings and hit the tropics.
PITTI UOMO STREET STYLE w/ JKF Man
We’re back with another edition of Street Style from Pitti Uomo. Be sure to strap on your patchwork madras and above the knee shorts because these sweltering shots are coming in piping hot from 37 degree Florence and the June iteration of the bi-annual men’s tradeshow. As always, these looks might not be to everyone’s taste but please be sure to take at least a smidgen of inspiration from what you’re about to see. While we’re not necessarily advocating for ‘total looks’ from all the imagery about to be shown, there is certainly something that can be gleaned from each. Pitti Uomo, as always, is a diverse assembly of style aficionados and is assuredly one of the main reasons that I keep returning, in an effort to capture, what I perceive to be, the ongoing trends in the industry. So sit back and enjoy this collection of well heeled gents who sacrificed themselves upon the sweltering altar of heat in all their glorious finery. Cheers!
GOOD TASTE RUNS IN THE FAMILY
Here at Aubin, we’ve always been proudly inspired by the past while living in the present. So this month we thought we’d celebrate a few of the men who’ve been doing their thing for even longer than we have and get some style tips from them. Our assembled dad squad includes a rave legend, a single dad, a retired teacher, musical mentors, style gurus and an OG architect. All of them have come at parenting in their own unique way, given their children a sense of style and self-confidence, and prove that looking extremely sharp cuts across generations.
A Very Modern. British Summer
We’ve heard there’s a heat wave coming, just in time for our summer collection launch and the long weekend. Take a look at our summer lookbook.
Love Letter To Summer
"Spring flew swiftly by, and summer came; and if the village had been beautiful at first, it was now in the full glow and luxuriance of its richness." That was Charles Dickens, back in 1838, celebrating the first night of the year when he could stroll down to the pub without a massive coat on. And while much has changed since Dickens’ day – fewer charmingly charismatic pickpockets and hobbling misers etc – the glory of the onset of British summertime remains undimmed.
A Modern. British Summer
We recently joined our friends at No1 Bruton for a few days of R&R. It being British Summer, this involved many pints, a bit of rain, sensational food and some bracing countryside walks. All washed down with an awful lot of laughs.
BRIGHT YOUNG THINGS
From dragon-filled fantasy and historical romance to kitchen sink drama and Welsh language horror, this is a great time for British drama. We meet the men who are making it happen, and admire their new suits
